This ship shares a nearly identical bridge officer layout to the gold standard of PvP dogfighter builds - Engineering Pilot Ships. This means most builds that work on those ships (like the Qui'tu, Ajax, and Khaiell) will work directly copied over to this ship.
The Defiant lacks an experimental weapon and some maneuverability compared to those other pilot ships, but makes up for it with a higher hull capacity. This allows it to take more punishment, and can use some additional weapons for set bonuses or other functions in the rear slot - for example, some players may slot the Tractor Beam Mine Launcher in the rear alongside two Omni arrays.
This is also a unique ship in that it is the only ship in the game with a 5/3 layout and full pilot maneuvers, so it can be quite formidable in the right hands. With so many players already owning the 10th Anniversary bundle, this is a great first step into PvP for those players.
