Freedom Frigate Build Sample

Context for this Build

This is one of my favorite ships to fly, and prior to the Intel revamp, was probably the best anti-exitus ship in the game due to its combination of Pilot seating with a Miracle Worker seat that allowed it to slot Narrow Sensor Bands. In fact, there are only 3 ships in the game at the time of writing that can do the following combination:

  • Emergency Power to Auxiliary 3 (250 perception)
  • Attack Pattern Lambda 3 (450 perception)
  • Beam Overload 3 (no damage sacrifice by dropping to BO2)
  • Narrow Sensor Bands Any Rank (Immunity to Placates)

This makes the Freedom Frigate, and the other two ships that can run a similar setup (Legendary Excelsior and Vulcan Jelly) effective at combating Intel Team/Exitus type builds because it can both slot the high perception needed to target them as well as occasional immunity to the placate.

That's been thrown a bit out of whack now that Intel Team also grants perception, so a ship like the Legendary JHAS, Lobi JHEC, Deimos, etc can all be outfitted to have more perception than the Freedom. That kind of muddles its role a bit now, but it's still quite effective and due to its very high hull capacity stat and reasonable speed/turn, it's still a very good beam damage platform. Here is the current build I run on mine, but check out my video for an alternate layout and a few notes on it. Since the only fixed seat is the Engineering Commander one, there are a LOT of different options for customization on this ship and that means plenty of room to experiment and tweak.
